About AI VoyagerYour Guide to AI Mastery
I'm learning AI and sharing my journey with you. Follow along as I learn, then teach what I've discovered. Let's explore AI together, one step at a time.

Meet André Barnard
Software Engineer | AI Explorer
Based in the Netherlands, I transform complex AI concepts into practical skills anyone can learn. No jargon. No overwhelm. Just clear guidance that gets you results.
Mission: Make AI accessible for beginners through step-by-step guidance in plain language.
Connect on LinkedInLearning AI Together
I'm not an AI expert, I'm a learner, just like you. I'm navigating the same overwhelming landscape of jargon, hype, and technical complexity. But here's what makes this journey different:
- I document what I learn in plain language
- I share the resources and tools that actually helped me
- I break down complex concepts as I figure them out myself
My goal is simple: learn AI step by step, then teach what I've discovered. If you're curious but overwhelmed, follow along. We'll explore this together, one practical lesson at a time.
How I'm Learning (And Sharing)
As I explore AI, I focus on practical skills and real understanding—not just collecting facts. Here's my approach:
- Find the clear starting point — Cut through the noise to discover what actually matters for beginners
- Skip the unnecessary — No math marathons or theoretical deep-dives. Focus on what you can actually use
- Document real questions — What should I learn first? How do I know I'm doing it right? Can I use this at work without breaking things?
Every lesson I share comes from what I've actually tested and understood myself. If I'm learning it, you'll see it here.
What We'll Discover Together
As I learn and share, you'll gain practical skills you can apply right away. Here's what following along can help you do:
- Draft better emails and documents using AI tools
- Automate repetitive tasks to free up your time
- Speed up projects with AI-powered workflows
- Build confidence in using AI without feeling lost
- Stay current with AI developments that matter
- Apply what you learn at work or in personal projects
These aren't promises—they're outcomes I'm working toward myself. When I figure something out that works, you'll be the first to know.
My Background
I work as a software engineer in the Netherlands and I'm currently following the Microsoft AI Engineer career path. My professional background is in translating complex systems into tools people can actually use.
While AI is a major focus, you'll also find posts about software development, programming concepts, and tools I'm exploring. It's all part of the learning journey.
But I'm not here as an AI expert, I'm here as a fellow learner who happens to be good at breaking down technical concepts. If you're looking for someone who's already figured it all out, that's not me. If you want to learn alongside someone who's documenting the journey honestly, let's go.
Why This Journey Matters
Learning AI and software development is about more than just acquiring technical skills. It's about building confidence in a world that's changing rapidly. When you move from feeling lost to feeling capable, it shifts how you approach your work, your career, and even conversations with others.
I'm also exploring game development with my son, who dreams of becoming a game developer one day. We're just starting on this journey and will be posting our progress as we learn Unreal Engine together. That's also why I'm creating gaming asset prompts on PromptBase. You can see some of my AI tools and prompts on the apps page.
If you've been curious but didn't know where to start, you're not alone. Let's figure this out together, one step at a time.
